This delightful pale blue flower appears mainly along rivers and streams where the water is not fast flowing but it can also be found in wet woodlands.
Each flower is classic speedwell family shaped and each stem can have several stalks and each stalk several flowers so where they grow together they can appear as quite an impressive site although on closer inspection it can be a bit of a tangled mass!
