I know a lot of people do not like spiders, I confess to be uncomfortable with house spiders! However, they are an important part of our fauna and there are hundreds of different species. These can range from being around two inches long like the female raft spider that inhabitats acid pools on heathland to the minute like the little zebra spider that you can find in corners of your house. Spiders can be a difficult group to identify but here in this series I take a look at some of the more common and identifiable species.
